Oceanview Stables: A History
Oceanview Stables was founded by a man named Edward Strange. Edward was a CEO for the world's largest oil and gas company for a long period of time, he retired one of the richest men in the world. Having always had a passion for horses as a young lad, he purchased a small island off the coast near the equator and opened up his own Racing Stables, training, breeding, and raising Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds for the track. The workers he hired for his Stables brought their families, others heard of the island's beauty and moved in, and soon a small town sprouted up on the island, with Oceanview Stables as the centerpiece. His unique training method of racing the horses on the beach and through the water instead of on a manicured track proved to be very effective, and he raised quite a few champions.
As Edward grew older and more frail, he was unable to train the horses as he used to, and Oceanview Stables eventually dropped out of competing forever, the bloodlines he'd worked so hard to cultivate slowly dying out. He left everything to his sole surviving relative: his granddaughter, Katie Strange. She inherited the Stables, the money, and the Island when Edward died. She also inherited one Standardbred mare, the last foal ever to be bred at Oceanview Stables, and the last survivor of the once-great bloodline, just as Katie herself is the last survivor of the Strange family.
Katie is building Oceanview Stables up again from where it has fallen, and expanding past her grandfather's racing focus to also breed and train for Western-style disciplines. Oceanview Stables now breeds and trains Thoroughbreds, Standardbreds, American Quarter Horses, American Paint Horses, and Appaloosas, as well as cross-breeds of the above. Some Mustang and Unicorn blood occasionally gets into the herd as well.
